Exploration

Eramet’s geologists search for future metal deposits and prepare the opening of new mines through preliminary studies that confirm the environmental and economic relevance and feasibility of the project. They are Eramet’s first ambassadors to local communities, with whom they immediately establish respectful relations.

Mining operations

Planning, logistics, operations, optimisation, etc. Mining jobs, from technical to managerial positions, have a key part to play in achieving our production objectives. Mitigating environmental impacts is an important component of these businesses, which are constantly changing to incorporate new technologies (data science, AI, etc.).

Metal processing and recovery

Once extracted from our mines, raw materials are processed by applying the appropriate process: mineral processing, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy. In our plants, this processing of metals requires cutting-edge skills: ore reduction and melting process, metal purification, ferroalloy refining, conventional steelmaking, and the production of special alloys.

R&D and Innovation

Innovation is at the heart of Eramet’s strategy. Eramet Ideas, the Group’s innovation centre, aims to create a sustainable world today for future generations. Drawing on their talents, cutting-edge tools and boosting collaboration on a global scale, Eramet Ideas teams constantly discover and develop innovative and sustainable solutions to accelerate change in the mining and metallurgy industry, and exponentially create value for the company, its employees, and the communities around which the Group operates.

Environment, energy and climate

Our environment, energy and climate experts support Eramet in achieving excellence in environmental performance. Managing water, energy, biodiversity, land rehabilitation, materials and waste, they are the guarantors of the implementation of our “Act For Positive Mining” roadmap in line with the best international standards.

Support functions

Our support functions don’t just work behind the scenes. They play a decisive role in defining and implementing our global objectives. Our teams in finance, sales, human resources, IT, purchasing, logistics and many others are essential partners who work closely with each department to develop innovation, excellence, and responsibility.

It’s my dream as an engineer to change the world, and I feel I can contribute to that in my own way at Eramet! Our missions are constantly evolving to keep pace with the Group’s development, and the ISD team offers a stimulating working environment thanks to the involvement and collaboration of its members.

Head of Group ISD Office CIO

Industries around the world are changing to meet the needs of the energy transition. We have made this a priority by including it at the core of our strategy. But what makes the difference in Eramet’s projects is the people, not the technology!

Benoît Robitaille
VP Project Management and Engineering

We tackled CSR at a very early stage, and placed it at the core of our strategy. It is a real asset in preventing many risks. But this also tremendously raises expectations, so we have to be ever more demanding and thorough to deliver on our promises.

The ReLieVe project is really important to me because it relates to some fascinating topics: recycling, the circular economy, urban mining, and decarbonization… In Europe, we are among the leaders in this field. Imagine the adventure that lies ahead!
