With operations on five continents and employees from more than 70 different countries, Eramet is an inherently diverse group. We are convinced that this diversity of talents and skills is an asset and we are actively engaged in recruiting the talented people who will be crucial to our success in the future, regardless of their gender, disability, age, social or cultural origin or sexual orientation.

We are committed to offering all employees the support and development opportunities they need throughout their careers.

Diversity & Inclusion
Eramet strengthens its commitment

We have formalized our commitments in an Ethics Charter, which embodies our determination to place diversity and inclusion at the heart of the Group’s values.

Opening up dialogue between cultures

Openness to the world, listening and respect for different cultures are among the qualities we look for in our employees. We apply these values to our day-to-day work, because we want to be a partner that is appreciated by our host countries. We are committed to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with local communities, thanks to our dedicated community relations teams in each of our subsidiaries. We support our employees in working in a multicultural environment with specific tools and training.

Accelerating the progress of women and gender equality

We currently have 3 women out of 7 members of the Executive Committee, and we aim to have at least 30% of women managers in all our businesses by 2026.

18,5%
of women in the Group by 2023

26%
of female managers in 2023
(vs. 16,9% in 2019)

28%
of women recruited by 2023

WoMen@eramet, our mixed internal network, works to break the glass ceiling by offering women training, coaching and mentoring.

We are convinced that it is possible to thrive in the mining and metallurgy industry, regardless of gender, in an environment that recognizes and values skills above all else. With this in mind, we have joined International Women In Mining (IWiM) as a partner.

We are committed to a culture of caring, respect for differences and gender equality. All our employees have access to the same career opportunities, promotion and support.

Giving everyone the means to move forward

Every year, we train and develop over 900 young people throughout the Group and its subsidiaries. We offer students and recent graduates rewarding and educational professional experience in the countries where we operate (internships, work-study programs, apprenticeships, international corporate volunteering…) and in all mining professions.

[2022 figures]

For the past three years, the Eramet group has been recognized as a benchmark employer of young people by the international HappyTrainees ranking. Based on the testimonials of the Group’s interns and apprentices, HappyTrainees is a guarantee of quality that we are proud to have won, as it enables students to share their experience within Eramet on 6 themes: progress, management, work environment, pride, motivation and pleasure.

We also value the experience of older employees, particularly in the more technical trades of mining and metallurgy, and the resulting transmission of knowledge that contributes to intergenerational collaboration.

Including people with visible or invisible disabilities

We are committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities, whether visible or invisible, on all our sites. We raise our teams’ awareness of disability and the challenges it presents, work to empower disabled people through employment, and take part in local initiatives (SEEPH, DuoDay, Inclusiv’Day…).

We aim to establish local partnerships with associations and NGOs specialized in the inclusion of people with disabilities in each of the countries where we operate, to guarantee the best possible welcome and support.

Including lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) people

As part of our commitment to ensuring an inclusive working environment for all, we have joined the association l’Autre Cercle, which supports us in improving the inclusion of LGBT+ people in the workplace. We are aware that we operate in countries that do not offer the same rights for all, so we take care to raise awareness and convey values that include respect for human rights, differences and tolerance to all our employees.
