After its successful launch in Gabon in 2022, the “Femmes d’Avenir” mentoring program with Women In Africa is continuing in Senegal. The Group’s contribution to socio-economic development in the countries where it operates goes beyond the sphere of mining activity.
On October 19 in Dakar, the “Femmes d’Avenir” program was inaugurated in Senegal, an initiative supported by Women in Africa and Eramet. The aim is to support over 600 Senegalese women entrepreneurs over a three-year period, through dedicated mentoring programs.
The program is made up of two tracks: “Jeunes pousses”, through which 200 female entrepreneurs will develop their soft skills each year; and “Entrepreneures confirmées”, tailor-made support for 5 high-potential female entrepreneurs.
The first 50 “start-ups” and the 5 established female entrepreneurs were invited to the launch ceremony, which was also attended by the event’s godmothers: Victorine Ndeye, Senegal’s Minister of Microfinance and the Social and Solidarity Economy, and Virginie de Chassey, Chief Sustainability and External Affairs Officer of the Eramet group.
“Femmes d’Avenir” was launched jointly in 2022 by Eramet and Women In Africa. The program aims to support economic and social development by encouraging female entrepreneurship on the African continent. The first edition of the program in Gabon has already enabled 30 female entrepreneurs to develop their skills and networks.
“Femmes d’Avenir” is part of the Group’s “Eramet Beyond for Contributive Impacts” CSR program, dedicated to local economic development through the creation of sustainable jobs outside the mining sector.
