Weda Bay’s nickel is selling! 7,000 tons have just been commercialized by the Group, a first for the Indonesian nickel ferroalloy.
Eramet is selling 7,000 tons of nickel ferroalloy for the first time, produced by the Indonesian Weda Bay Nickel plant. A first cargo bought by Chinese clients was shipped on September 17.
After 20 months of construction, the plant had carried out its first tapping on April 30. Since then, its production is constant and allows Eramet to add a new product to its commercial range, which complements the ferronickel manufactured by Société Le Nickel in New Caledonia.
This is a new step in this project, which is the object of a partnership between Tsingshan (57%) and Eramet (43%).
