By joining the Global Compact, the Eramet Group has committed to contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to build a more sustainable world. As part of its commitments as a signatory to the Global Compact, the Group publishes an annual Communication on Progress (COP): a document compiling the practical CSR actions implemented, the progress made and quantitative targets. This document provides an opportunity to report on Eramet’s contribution to the goals of the Global Compact, through the policies, actions and results implemented as part of its CSR approach.

The Group has chosen to join one of the main initiatives launched by the United Nations to help the planet: the Global Compact.

In 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals: 17 priorities for socially equitable, environmentally safe, economically prosperous, inclusive and sustainable development up to 2030. Fighting climate change, reducing inequalities, access to clean mobility… each of the CSR initiatives launched by Eramet is linked to one of these global objectives.

The main SDGs to which Eramet is making a contribution include:

SDG 8, which aims to create and provide decent jobs and economic growth;

SDG 12, in particular through the Sustainable Management of Natural Resources, Waste Reduction and Corporate Social Responsibility targets;

SDG 13, with its emphasis on reducing the Group’s energy and climate footprint, as well as its focus on metals used in the energy transition.

Eramet and its subsidiaries are acting on the priorities defined by the United Nations to achieve a better, more sustainable future for all, through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Act4nature

In November 2021, Eramet will join the act4nature international initiative for the preservation of biodiversity and had its commitments officially recognized as SMART (Specific, Measurable, Assignable, Realistic and Time-related) by environmental NGOs and scientific bodies. The Group is thus committed to incorporating biodiversity conservation objectives into its business strategy.

The EITI aims to contribute to the fight against corruption by promoting the transparency of money transfers between oil, gas and mining companies and the countries in which they operate. The Group’s financial transparency reporting is available online on the Eramet website.

To promote transparency and the introduction of international standards in its sector, the Group has joined the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
